Painting & Drawing
An ongoing studio practice in oil, plus the watercolors and ink drawings I keep while traveling — painting from life, memory, and the people and places I love. Recent works in progress, a Hawaiʻi sunrise, and a notebook from Japan.
Diamond Head, sunrise
Two quick postcards painted from a Waikīkī balcony as the sun came up over Diamond Head — held against the real view. The loop walks from first light to the moment the sun clears the ridge.
Japan, in a notebook
Pages from a Traveler's Notebook kept across Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo — coffee bars and noodle counters drawn on the spot, collaged with eki stamps and postmarks collected along the way.
Dream
A self-portrait set in a grand tea hall — working the figure forward against a loose, light-filled crowd, with palette-knife texture catching the chandeliers.

Jeju
Storm light over the island — chasing the moment the sun breaks under a heavy sky, pink burning along the ridgeline.

Lupin
A portrait of my cat mid-bath — tuxedo black against wisteria and soft suds, somewhere between a pet portrait and a folk tale.
